Pune – The city I am madly in love with!!!

PUNE... well five years are long enough to fall in love with a city..!!

When I came to Pune five years back, I was a small town young (of course) gal....who took life very seriously...never broke any rules...was a lil naive...the highest degree of abuse heard was "saala"...had very few guy-friends... and adventure for me was roaming on the scooty with my cousins..!

Now 5 years later...I know that I am more mature..wise..have seen the world... heard lots of gaalis (thanks to the movie Delhi Belly for that ;P)...broke a LOT of rules..have become independent..confident and have a long list of friends whom I can rely on...!

My journey for Pune started in June 2006..At that time Patna-Pune express was only once in a week (now it runs daily)...I reached Kalyan...took a cab from there...and soon was on the Mumbai Pune express highway...And I was awestruck by the beauty....and still when I go through that route..the beauty never fails to impress me..!!

Then...after reaching Pune...I was filled with a lot of apprehension.. new place.. new people.. new room.. new college..I was out of my comfort zone..! But then thanks to my cousins..I felt a lil protected..! Mom settled me down...made my room look close to one I had in Patna..and I went for my first class in college!!!

We had an introduction session..and we were told by our teacher...that you are feeling home-sick now..But there will be a day..when you would not like to go home..! I was not ready to believe him at that time.. But..now when I look back..his words  stand so true..!

The three years in college passed with a lot of fun..made a great group of friends...our gang had 18 people..which was almost 30% of class population :) We went to all places nearby Pune.. Lonavala.. Lawasa(our fav)...Murud..Alibagh..Mumbai...!!!  Bunked classes... and I couldn't believe myself..when I actually went for movies a night before my university practical exam..!! I was d kind of gal...who stayed indoors before exams..trying to concentrate on everything...!! And here was I roaming...:) and still I did great in exams..topped the university..without putting too much of effort..! It was cool  :)

Then it was time to enter the industry.. The gang dispersed... and only few stayed back in Pune...Even cousins went to different places.. At first again felt a sense of loss...coz friends were my family away from home... But, then I made a new set of great friends.. enjoyed my job.. was working on great technology...the job was challenging..I was getting appreciated...what more could anyone ask for! Spent my two years ...and then thought it was time to move on...

Changed job...again made some new friends..and I was happy about the fact that I could make friends in such a less tym frame..coz I always believed that I am a big introvert who takes ages to become friends with people..! :) I was proved wrong by my team mates..they were really friendly..and made me comfortable..!

Now..as we had a lil more money to spend...so we went to Goa.. Singapore...Hyderabad...visited all the eating joints in Pune... People at my office say..you should become a guide for Pune eatery :)

And now it’s time to leave...the city I am in madly love with..! It has been my home away from home...But..I guess all good things come to an end..with a hope that better things are coming my way...!
